Career Highlights:
Dr. Yang teaches courses related to various courses in the discipline of communication studies, such as interpersonal communication, communication theory, sports communication, mass media and society, and research methods, to name a few. In her seven years of teaching, she has been committed to providing students with applied learning opportunities (e.g., community engagement projects). Dr. Yang’s research focuses on media effects in the context of health communication, sports communication, social media, and public relations. She is the author of more than 50 conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. Her work has been recognized for its quality and originality via top paper awards at recent international and national academic conferences.

There are many reasons but primarily because of all the great teachers that I have met in my life. Great teachers have changed their student's lives so profoundly that I wanted to follow their examples and pass on their passion for knowledge and education to help my students in a way that they have helped me.
